The San Francisco 49ers return to Levi’s® Stadium to take on the Seattle Seahawks in a primetime NFC West showdown. The game takes place on Monday, Nov. 11 at 5:15 p.m. PT. Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the “Monday Night Football” matchup.

he NFL’s lone undefeated team will face arguably its toughest test thus far in Week 10. The San Francisco 49ers are set to host the Seattle Seahawks on “Monday Night Football” in one of the most intriguing matchups for the entire 2019 NFL season.

San Francisco has ridden the league’s top-ranked defense to a perfect 8-0 record. Seattle is very much alive in the NFC West race at 7-2 because Russell Wilson was probably the best player in football over the first half of the season.

Will it be the 49ers’ defense or the Seahawks’ quarterback that comes out on top?

According to the early betting line at OddsShark, the 49ers are pretty significant favorites. The Seahawks are six-point road underdogs. The over/under is 46.5.

With a 28-25 road win over the Arizona Cardinals on “Thursday Night Football” in Week 9, the 49ers allowed a season-high in points. San Francisco is second in scoring defense and opponents’ yards per play behind the New England Patriots. No one is allowing fewer yards per game than the 49ers.

Prior to last week’s contest, San Francisco hadn’t surrendered more than 20 points in any game. The 49ers have given up just 36 total points in their three home games.

Even though they’ve faced an easy schedule, San Francisco has stepped up against difficult opponents. The 49ers are 2-0 against teams that are above .500, beating the Los Angeles Rams and Carolina Panthers by a combined score of 71-20.

Seattle is 1-2 against winning teams, and they could easily be 0-3. The Seahawks barely beat the Rams 30-29 in Week 5 when Greg Zuerlein missed a 44-yard field goal in the game’s final seconds.

The New Orleans Saints won in Seattle 33-27, though the contest was much more one-sided than the final score indicated. The Baltimore Ravens beat the Seahawks 30-16 on the road a few weeks ago.

There is an enormous gap between these two defenses. Seattle is 29th in opponents’ yards per play, putting them dead last among all NFC teams. The Seahawks are 25th in total defense. Seattle has given up at least 28 points in four of their last five games.

It’s going to be very hard for the Seahawks to win in San Francisco, but you can almost be certain that Wilson will at the very least give Seattle a chance to pull off the upset.

When the defense failed the Seahawks and surrendered 34 points to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 9, Wilson threw for 378 yards and five touchdown passes to give Seattle the victory.

Wilson leads the NFL with a 118.2 passer rating and 22 touchdown passes. He’s third with 2,505 passing yards. The veteran has only thrown one interception.

The Seahawks were held to 16 points in Wilson’s one poor performance this season. In every other game, Wilson has posted a triple-digit passer rating and Seattle has scored more than 20 points.

Jared Goff is the best quarterback that San Francisco has faced in 2019. Baker Mayfield, Jameis Winston and Kyler Murray are next on the list.

Wilson hasn’t taken on a defense that is this good. New Orleans is the only top-five defense that Seattle played through the first nine weeks. The Saints held the Seahawks to 14 points until Wilson led two touchdown drives in garbage time.

Jimmy Garoppolo had his first standout performance since Week 2 in San Francisco’s last game when he completed 75 percent of his passes for 317 yards and four touchdowns. He’ll probably have to make some big throws again with Wilson on the opposite sideline.

San Francisco’s No.2-ranked rushing attack should have plenty of success. Seattle couldn’t handle Lamar Jackson and Baltimore’s top-ranked run game.

This is a game the 49ers should win, but Wilson could make San Francisco sweat for close to 60 minutes.

Prediction: San Francisco over Seattle, 26-23

San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers are a professional American football team located in the San Francisco Bay Area. They compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) West division. The team currently plays its home games at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, located 38 miles (61 km) southeast of San Francisco in the heart of Silicon Valley. Since 1988, the 49ers have been headquartered in Santa Clara.

The team was founded in 1946 as a charter member of the All-America Football Conference (AAFC) and joined the NFL in 1949 when the leagues merged. The 49ers were the first major league professional sports franchise based in San Francisco. The name “49ers” comes from the prospectors who arrived in Northern California in the 1849 Gold Rush.[4] The team is legally and corporately registered as the San Francisco Forty Niners.[5] The team began play at Kezar Stadium in San Francisco before moving across town to Candlestick Park in 1970 and then to Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara in 2014.

The 49ers won five Super Bowl championships between 1981 and 1994, led by Hall of Famers Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Ronnie Lott, Steve Young, and coach Bill Walsh.[6][7] They have been division champions 19 times between 1970 and 2019, making them one of the most successful teams in NFL history. The 49ers have been in the league playoffs 50 times: 49 times in the NFL and one time in the AAFC.

The team has set numerous notable NFL records, including most consecutive road games won (18), most consecutive seasons leading league scoring (1992–95), most consecutive games scored (1979–2004), most field goals in a season (44), fewest turn-overs in a season (10), and most touchdowns in a Super Bowl. According to Forbes Magazine, the team is the 6th most-valuable team in the NFL, valued at $3.05 billion in September 2019.[8] In 2019, the 49ers were ranked the 16th most valuable sports team in the world, behind baseball’s Chicago Cubs and above soccer’s Bayern Munich.[9]
